Pan Pacific Orchard is Singapore’s latest 5-star hotel and boasts a unique architecture both from the outside as well as the inside. The hotel’s Oyster & Champagne Bar, Florette, serves (as its name suggests) oysters & champagne or cocktails and tidbits at night but also afternoon high tea from 3-5 pm.

Just like everything else at Pan Pacific Orchard, attention to details made Florette an experience worth having. The porcelain set itself was super cute and aesthetically pleasing. I love afternoon high tea for the experience but usually do not have a sweet enough tooth to eat most of the sweet part of a set. This time, I did try them all cause it all looked amazing. The savory sandwiches were tasty and the pastries not too sweet. We even ate the macaroons, which we usually skip due to them being too sweet but this time it was perfect. Our favorites were the exotic mango choux, the mix berries and yogurt cake and of course the calamansi macaroons (sour plum).

The staff was knowledgeable and described the set well without it feeling forced (just citing from a script), which felt natural. We can see why the afternoon high tea here is popular as it the place was almost full. We went there again in the evening but sadly, yours truly had food poisoning and could not try their signature oyster set but we did enjoy their tidbits and cocktails.
