Happy New Year!

2024 was started off in Lion City. We had never been to Singapore before so we were super excited for this winter escape. Like on any other trips, one of our main focus was to experience the luxury hotel scene in Singapore and as the city is renowned for its expensive lifestyle, we were sure it would have a lot to offer.

Being a global business hub, Singapore, a city state in South East Asia, is one of the richest countries in the world measured on GDP per capita. Unsurprisingly, the city has a wide variety of 5-star hotels catered to its wealthy population. All major global brands such a Four Seasons, The Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental etc. are represented in Singapore and among this cocktail of luxury hotels is Pan Pacific.

The hotel group has 5 hotels in Singapore alone: Pan Pacific Orchard, Pan Pacific Singapore, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, and PARKROYAL on Beach Road Singapore.

We stayed in their newest establishment, Pan Pacific Orchard, which opened on June 1st 2023. It has a capacity of 347 rooms and prices start from 275€ for a deluxe room and go up to 600€ for a cloud their cloud terrace suite.

We have never stayed at a Pan Pacific hotel before and didn’t know what to expect but boy were we in for a surprise! Before our stay here, we stayed at Carlton Hotel Singapore and were delighted by their service, the spacious room, and their club lounge which was great for working and relaxing. Pan Pacific Orchard has the same but with a next level luxury that we haven’t seen often before. Let’s start at the beginning.

Service:

As soon as we stepped out of our taxi, we were greeted by 2 staff members who took care of our 4 pieces of heavy luggage. They were later brought to our room so one thing less to worry about. The staff led us to one of the standalone check-in counters and the whole process took less than 5 min (extremely efficient compared to some other check-in processes we have seen).

Rooms were cleaned every day and the Pacific Club privilege included non-alcoholic drinks from the mini-bar which would be replenished daily. The Club privilege allows access to their Pacific Club on the 11th floor, which served afternoon tea from 3-5 pm and cocktail hours from 6-8 pm with snacks to satisfy the small hunger. The staff was friendly and helpful in contrast to what you would experience in general in Singapore (not much different to what we experienced in Hong Kong).

Design:

Hats off to Pan Pacific Orchard for the meticulous attention to details. We could not find any flaws to the design of the hotel as we usually could in other hotels. Every object from the doors to each signs were beautifully crafted and the unique design of 4 areas: beach, forest, gardens, cloud on their own terrace make the experience inside the hotel feel like a different world.

Amenities:

There was nothing missing in the hotel or the room itself. Hair dryer, a designer mini-bar on the wall, a water dispenser both for hot and cold water and least but not last, Diptyque soap! We have never seen this French luxury fragrance in any hotel before and only know of Mandarin Oriental that provides them so Pan Pacific Orchard really went all in here.

If you are going to Singapore and are looking for luxurious accommodation that isn’t in the higher price range of Four Seasons or Raffles Hotel Singapore, then Pan Pacific Orchard is a good candidate to make that experience in Singapore extra special.
